Join us online to explore how General Motors-Holden adapted its operations to support Australia's wartime effort, as told in Rear vision: the Holden collection.
Historians Emerita Professor Joan Beaumont and Associate Professor Paul Sendziuk will share insights into GMH's shift to wartime production and its role in Australia's industrial mobilisation.
They'll be joined by National Archives curator Dr Anna Edmundson to discuss the exhibition and the work involved in bringing this history to audiences.
The webinar draws on the Australian Research Council-funded research project Assembling for War: General Motors-Holden and the Mobilisation of Private Industry in World War II, which supported the exhibition's development.
Rear vision: the Holden collection is on display at National Archives in Canberra until 31 January 2027. The State Library of South Australia developed the exhibition in partnership with Adelaide University.
