In June 2020, former Director-General, David Fricker, issued determination (PDF 195 KB) to extend the National Archives Enterprise Agreement 2017–20.
The determination increases salaries and allowances by 2% each year for 3 years while keeping all other conditions of the enterprise agreement unchanged.

APS employees receive a generous 15.4% employer superannuation contribution.
Allowances can be paid in addition to salary in particular circumstances: including higher duties, travel assistance, restriction duty allowance, motor vehicle allowance and First Aid Officer allowance.
Salary packaging is available to employees on a salary sacrifice basis, including for extra superannuation contributions.
