Step inside the 2005 Cabinet and explore pivotal government decisions with National Archives Cabinet historian Dr David Lee.
What events do you recall from 2005? From the Boxing Day tsunami response to major economic reforms, it was a year of big decisions.

Each year, Cabinet records from 20 years prior enter the open period, offering a window into how Australian Government decisions were made.

Join us in the first of our new Inside the Archives series where Dr David Lee will explore the historical and political context of John Howard's Cabinet in 2005. He will examine the key issues facing the government at the time and how Cabinet approached them.

Dr Lee will also share insights into his role as National Archives' Cabinet historian, including how records are selected for release and why they remain an important resource for understanding Australia's history.
