'Making Australia Home' will provide an overview of the history of German migration in Queensland, from the mid-19th century on.
Despite the relatively recent history of German arrival and settlement in the state, the presence of this German heritage is strong.
The National Archives holds a wealth of information relating to those who migrated from Germany, including internment records, passenger arrivals, alien registration forms and naturalisation papers. You might even find your ancestors among them!
Bookings essential. Places limited to 25 ticketholders. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 restrictions morning tea will not be provided.
Please note, the Research Centre will not be open on this date.
