COVID-19: Important information about our services

The National Archives is closely monitoring COVID-19 response measures in all states and territories.

All research centres except Victoria are open to visitors.

We are working hard to continue delivering normal services outside Victoria. If additional restrictions are put in place in other states or territories, there may be delays in processing digitisation orders or providing access to records.

Conditions of entry vary by office based on site-specific physical distancing measures and requirements set out by state, territory and federal governments. More information is available on our visit us page.

Measures we put in place are designed to protect the health and safety of our visitors, clients and staff in line with government advice.

If you are feeling unwell, please postpone your visit. We would love to see you when you are feeling better.

Below are some frequently asked questions about the status of our services and how you can continue to access your National Archives.
