
Summary of the circumstances surrounding the loss of the Sydney, prepared from Naval Intelligence files in Fremantle by Third Officer Westhoven, WRANS. In October 1945, a Naval Intelligence officer suggested that this account be released to the press to end speculation about the possibility of survivors from the Sydney. This idea was rejected by the Director of Naval Intelligence.
