This report of the search for the overdue Sydney records the rescue of 25 of the Kormoran's crew by a British tanker. These survivors provided the first account of the battle in which both ships were sunk. Concerned that a second German raider might be patrolling the same waters, Australian authorities, as the annotation on this document indicates, sought to keep the information 'most secret'.
