Convenience foods became very popular in Australia in the first decade of the twentieth century. Food manufacturers like White Crow’s Carlisle Francis Longmore promoted the versatility of their products through promotional material. This recipe appears in Longmore’s booklet How to Prepare a Dessert that Is Sure to Come out Right (1923).
