National Archives welcomes new citizens at events in both Canberra and Brisbane.
Canberra
Senator John Faulkner will preside at events in Canberra to celebrate Constitution Day:
- 10.15am – Constitution Cake and tea begins a morning of celebrations
- 10.30am – Constitution Day Address by Senator John Faulkner
- 11.00am – Citizenship Ceremony – Senator Faulkner will welcome new citizens
- 11.30am – Senator Faulkner will launch Making Australia Home – an inspiring project to make immigration records available online
Brisbane
The Governor of Queensland, Ms Quentin Bryce, AC will preside at Constitution Day events in Brisbane:
- 10.00am – Citizenship Ceremony – Ms Quentin Bryce will welcome new citizens
- 10.30am – Ms Quentin Bryce will launch Making Australia Home – an inspiring project to make immigration records available online
