The Administrative Functions Disposal Authority (AFDA) is a general disposal authority released in February 2000. It sets out how long administrative records of government agencies should be kept.
AFDA needs to be updated to take into account changes in legislation and other records management requirements of the Australian Government. The following high-priority functions have been substantially amended:
A table of amendments will be made available with the revised AFDA. Three new functions will be included:
We expect to release the revised AFDA in early 2010.
