The National Archives has compiled a register of schemes being used in AGLS metadata in order to provide those using AGLS with information about them. Schemes include encoding (structuring) schemes such as ISO8601, thesauruses and controlled vocabularies or lists. The register also includes schemes originating from the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (DCMI). All schemes listed in the register are defined in the AGLS or Dublin Core RDF schemas.
The register is maintained as a Microsoft Access database. Two different reports from the database are provided below. The first shows all schemes in use with specific elements, listed by scheme name. The second lists each of the AGLS elements with the schemes used.
The National Archives is interested in finding out about other schemes used by implementers of AGLS that are not listed in the register. If you have a scheme not listed here, please contact the Agency Service Centre with information about the scheme – its name, a short description and/or a URL.
For further information about using any of the schemes listed here, please contact the National Archives through the Agency Service Centre.
