Welcome home – consent to fight
This letter of consent, dated 7 July 1915, was purportedly signed by the parents of Albert Aldersley who was only 18 when he enlisted in the Australian Imperial Forces (AIF). Written parental consent was required for anyone between the ages of 18 and 21 wishing to serve overseas.
