Thursday 26 January 2017 is the national public holiday for Australia Day. The National Archives’ opening hours and services for 26 January are detailed below.

Exhibition galleries

The exhibition galleries in Canberra will be open 9am to 5pm on Thursday 26 January.

Reading rooms

All National Archives reading rooms will be closed on Thursday 26 January 2017. Normal hours will resume Friday 27 January 2017. For specific times please check our reading room hours of opening.

Our collection

Our website will remain available 24 hours a day. Online you can search the collection, order digital copies of records and ask us a question about records in the collection.
