In 1954 Queen Elizabeth II became the first reigning monarch to set foot on Australian soil. Arriving in Sydney on 3 February and departing the country on 1 April, the Queen, accompanied by Prince Philip, visited more than 70 cities and towns across the country. What the Queen was served for lunch can be seen in the beautiful menus for her trips on the royal train.
