Replacement of the Archives' E-Commerce system

We are working to improve our online services to make it easier to access the National Archives collection.

As part of the process, we are upgrading our current e-commerce system. This means requesting or paying for copies of records through our online database RecordSearch will not be possible from 4 November to 6 November. However, you will be able to request access examination of records as normal during this time.

In mid-November we will launch the expanded online service. This will allow you to order images, records and books online. You can also register for records management training, book for events and arrange school visits.

The new system will enable us to support the maximum number of requests while still providing specialised Reading Room access to original documents. Please contact us via our feedback form if you have any problems during this changeover period.

Note: The dates in this announcement were changed from 28 October to 30 October, to 4 November to 6 November.
